The course will be run by solicitors from Wilsons Solicitors LLP. This full day course will focus on primarily non-contentious issues which legacy officers often encounter but which are not covered on other courses. The topics covered include:-
• Formal validity of Wills under the Wills Act 1837.
• Proving copy Wills (where the original has been lost) and reconstructions of Wills (where even a copy cannot be found).
• Rectification and construction of Wills.
• Types of grants including interim grants.
• Applications under s.116 Administration of Estates Act 1925 – passing over named executors.
• Oaths for executors and administrators.
• Issues surrounding executors including death, appointment, removal, renunciation and intermeddling.
• The Non-contentious Probate Rules including caveats and citations.
• Advanced grossing up, including Re: Benham calculations.
• Accounting issues, including common problems such as executors’ expenses, administration charges etc.

This course is essential for anyone asked to issue indemnities on behalf of their charity and who does not have a policy in place or for anyone who feels their policy may in fact not offer the protection required. | The second of this year's sessions aimed at our smaller charity members to allow delegates the opportunity to discuss issues which affect them but which may not have any relevence to larger charities within ILM's membership.
Facilitated by ILM, the discussion will be group led to allow delegates to share experiences, frustrations, success stories and seek assistance on any areas in which they are struggling.

This course, run by Turcan Connell, will look at Scot's succession law and charity governance as ILM seek to assist charities through the United Kingdom.
Run by Peter Littlefield and Gavin McEwan of Turcan Connell, this course will look at the issues affecting bequests in Scotland such as legal rites together with specific factors affecting charities who come under the governance of OSCR.
